If you've used my scribble
macro, you might have found that you're now capturing lots of information that used to get lost, but you're having trouble getting it all organized. I find that my scribbles tend to be related to a given patient or project, and that the name of the patient or project nearly always appears (or should appear) in the scribble. To organize all these scribbles, I simply select or tap in the patient's (or project) name and invoke gather.
Gather
then looks for a file in the folder C:\Gatherings\
with the name of the patient or project. It will create the file if it doesn't exist. It then it copies the entire paragraph that the selection is in (the entire scribble) to the file.
I find that I also like to keep my scribbles file tidy, so after I have gathered an item the macro will mark the item with a *, to show that it has been gathered somewhere, and then move it (using the archive
macro) to the file C:\Documents\archive.doc
.
Before you gather a scribble, you might want to create a reminder for yourself that it needs some action taken. My new to do
macro can help with that chore.
