- Proprietor, November 1978 through 1990.
- Created the Nintendo-compatible SuperCartridge for Color Dreams, Inc., Brea, CA.
- Designed and implemented hardware for an NCR-compatible terminal based on an embedded IBM PC compatible engine.
- Designed and developed a fully automated communications and electronic mail package for a major Macintosh software publisher.
- Developed and marketed mass-market software products for the Macintosh personal computer, including BackDown, a background telecommunication package, and Immortality, a system enhancement.
- Implemented IBM PC/AT-based telecommunications software, graphics data base translation software, and graphics hardware interface drivers for Aztek, Inc., Irvine, CA.
- Wrote telecommunication software for HP-1000 minicomputers at Aztek.
- Developed a data encryption system for the Macintosh, based on the Rivest-Shamir-Aldeman public key encryption algorithm.
- Performed research for and consulted on all aspects of data communication systems for the County of Orange, CA.
- Designed hardware and software for a token ring fault-tolerant local area network with interfaces to a number of different manufacturers' hardware at the County of Orange.
- Developed an automated mortgage loan marketing package for Columbia Savings and Loan, Irvine, CA on an IBM personal computer.
- Supervised the final design, development, and production of a Multibus-based 68000 computer with a Unix operating system for Measurement Systems and Controls, Inc., Orange, CA.
- Implemented Unix utilities and device drivers for the above system.
- Designed and implemented Forth and C compilers with full Unix interface.
- Designed a high-speed printer interface adaptor for American Printing Technologies, Los Angeles, CA.
- Performed basic research on, then designed, a high-speed adaptable printer interface for Dataproducts printers for American Computer Hardware (ACHC), Santa Ana, CA.
- Wrote and implemented firmware to emulate SyFa terminals for ACHC.
- Did basic research and a comprehensive design analysis for a graphic imaging laser printer controller for ACHC.
- Designed and prototyped a miniature low-power plain paper printer for Cory Computers, Inc. Newport Beach, CA.
- Wrote firmware for microcomputer-based automated welder controllers for Interlock Industries, Santa Ana, CA.
- Wrote firmware for an electronic automobile ignition/mixture control system for Interlock.
- Designed hardware and software for a distributed energy management system for Energy Conservation Systems, Costa Mesa, CA.
- Designed, implemented, and installed the Space Shuttle Terminal Launch System through Computer Peripheral Service, Costa Mesa, CA and Martin Marietta Aerospace, Vandenberg AFB, CA.
- Published over a dozen feature articles and critical reviews in industry periodicals.

- Designed the firmware and helped supervise the production of a line of NCR compatible terminal products.
- Provided technical representation at trade shows.
- Reviewed and evaluated third-party software products.
- Wrote compilers, cross-compilers and communication software for a variety of personal computers including IBM PC and Convergent Technologies systems.
- Wrote and maintained systems-level software for Criterion mainframes.
- Designed, implemented and maintained interrupt-driven installable device drivers to allow IBM PCs to interface to telephone lines with voice synthesis and DTMF recognition.
- Designed and developed miscellaneous system-level MS-DOS utilities.

- Systems engineer, September 1977 through November 1978.
- Participated in the design and development of the Micro-disc, a high-speed Winchester-like hard disk drive.
- Participated in the design of disk interfaces.
- Wrote and maintained portions of the Basic Text Language compiler.
- Designed communications hardware and software for a distributed processing system used at the US Naval Weapons Station in China Lake, CA.
- Participated heavily in the design of a distributed relational data base management system.

- Programmer, October 1975 through September 1977.
- Wrote and maintained mortgage loan document processing software for Burroughs minicomputers.
- Wrote and maintained microcode support software and utilities.
