Browser Plug-in List

Browser plug-ins are needed to handle various file formats that browsers doesn't support by themselves. Most of the time, plug-ins have something to do with interactive or multimedia content.

Unfortunately, not all browser plug-ins work well with iCab; some even do not work at all. This page tries to tell what does or doesn't work. For more general information on how to install, configure or remove plug-ins please refer to ICabPlugins.

Plug-in List

Please note that the information in this list is not authorative. Since this list has been authored on and with Mac OS X, the information regarding Mac OS 9 and earlier is likely to be incomplete and inacccurate.

This list of plug-ins is sorted alphabetically; each entry contains a short description of the plug-in, information about availability for different versions of the Mac OS, information about the compatibility with iCab and the file names of the plug-ins themselves.

Note that not all listed files are required for a full installation of the plug-in. For example, some files are only needed in Mac OS X, while others can only be used with the classic Mac OS; some files are even entirely optional. The file names are mainly given as a means to identify a given file you stumble upon and are unable to associate with a plug-in; additionally, they are helpful for uninstalling (see below).
