February 5, 2008.
My Guru died today. Chris called from Iowa wth the news.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's body peacefully ceased to breathe at 7 pm Western European time,
allowing the Holy Master's Pure Consciousness, now free from physical bounds,
to be truly Everywhere, and with Everyone.
I felt a sense of overwhelming loss, at the beginning, and worried
about how to cope with it: this was gigantic, it seemed, and, also,
it had brought up other losses in my life... what would I do?
Yet I soon discovered I needed not to worry about any of these issues.
The collective devotion for Maharishi, our dear teacher, from all of his
students and practitioners of Transcendental Meditation, would lift my
pain and transform it in a sweet, pervasive, all-encompassing silence;
and in that silence, I felt Maharishi's eternal essence living on, free from
matter, fused in the Undifferentiated Consciousness
underlying All. Maharishi was Light, Joy, and Love.
And he was everywhere. What was there to cry about?
A settled tranquility than took the place of sorrow, as I found myself at Peace.
Thank You, Maestro, thank you for your most precious gift.
TM changed my life in a unique way, and became a central part
of my existence. It allowed me to contact the Transcendental Consciousness,
that is the origin of everything and everyone,
on daily basis. This daily contact with Pure Consciousness, in turn,
allowed me to make the most of my life,
to dare dreaming and trying, to take chances, to truly LIVE and LOVE.
Thank you so much, Maharishi. I will be eternally grateful to You.
