(12/8/05) Semester almost over, thank Goddess..
Feel as I have been in Vietnam... again..
This semester was very hard for me under many levels,
one of these being personal growth.
Some of the deeply conflicting themes in my life
have emerged to conscious awareness, allowing me to sort things out
and provide more focus to where I want to direct my energy
during this incredible adventure that is my doctoral program.
I finally gained some more clarity on my own personal
theoretical psychological orientation, for example.
I realized I very much identify with "Psicosintesi",
an originally Italian psychological system, founded by psychiatrist Roberto Assagioli
(in the picture).

Assagioli (1988-1974) was a collegue of Freud and Jung,
and began to crystallize his discipline around 1926
(mmh... that's the year my mother was born! Neat!)
Here is what he said about his approach:

'Psychosynthesis is a method of psychological development and self realization
for those who refuse to remain the slave of their own inner phantasms
or of external influences, who refuse to submit passively to the play
of psychological forces which is going on within them,
and who are determined to become the master of their own lives'
(Roberto Assagioli).

Psicosintesi regards the person in his/her bio-psycho-spiritual totality,
and as a part of a universal system structured to support consciouness development.

"The limits of psychosynthesis are, there are no limits"

Hence, he identified three levels of Unconscious,
as well as a lower and a higher Self.
Furthermore, he identified two fields of consciousness,
one internal or individual, and a collective one.
